Golden Voice Series (Audio CD)

Partap Sharma, the man with the 'million golden voices' was diagnosed with the degenerative, irreversible lung disorder emphysema in 2002. During one of his prolonged treatments at the 'Intensive Care Unit' in 2003, he was overheard by someone in the bed next to his. "I know that voice; it could only be one of two people - Melville de Mellow or Partap Sharma, and Melville's dead." Partap confessed to being him and a friendship and the idea to record classics for people unable to read, was born. Partap half jokingly promised he would do so if he got out of the ICU alive, and would name the company "ICU Entertainment."

In 2004, in preparation for this series, and in order to offset the ravages of emphysema and strengthen his lungs, Partap began taking lessons in Hindustani classical music from Pt. Manohar Vinayak Bhagwat of the Gwalior Gharana. When he passed away, his son Pt. Makarand Bhagwat continued the lessons.
Initially, Partap had thought of playing the main character himself and bringing in a number of people to play the various roles. In the end, it proved to be difficult to organise, besides he was confident in his ability to use the versatility of his own voice.

As promised ICU Entertainment was set up and released three sets of audio CDs:
